Jude & Mommy: A Date

Jude and Mommy had a Disneyland Date last week. The reason? The Poo Poo Chart. Yes, that's correct.... 5 poops in the potty equals a Disneyland Date with "Mommy and no Jonah" (Jude's words).
We took a spin on the teacups and the rockets, had some ice cream, and finished our night with Jude's first time on STAR TOURS. Rad. Dude, it was so rad. I LOVE star wars--All 6 of them! and to see Jude experiencing C3Po and R2D2 for the first time was rad. Just rad.
I think those Disneyland passes we got in January have gotten their money's worth many times over... we have so many cool memories there. If you ever want to join us.... just HOLLAR!

Family Dinner Anniversary Dress up Party 2006

wow. 7 years. That's a really long time! 7 Years of Family Dinner means that Mama Sue has cooked or provided over 350 DINNERS! YIKES!! That's a lot of cooking for a group that could be anywhere from 7 to 28 people!!

I love the fact that I have various photographer friends who use their gifts to make my family beautiful. Would you like to meet them??
There's Erin (www.erinjonesphotography.com) who is amazing with people in nature, capturing the families in their essence. Then there is Jordan (www.jordanirwin.com) who is a former Jr. Higher of James and I and all grown up and taking the most fabulous of photos... he recently shot Jude and Jonah's PIRATE birthday party. And then there's my Anne. Anne took some headshots of me just for fun during my trip this past spring when I suprised her at her home in Canada. She's been taking pictures for a million years and you can see her love for life in her photos. Anne and I met at Bible School in England about 8 years ago and we've been inseparable ever since.

Can you see the twinkle in his eye or the wonderment in his little face? First thing upon arrival in Disneyland on this little guy's birthday was a meeting with Wendy from Peter Pan (commentary on our infatuation with that story is below... somewhere on this blog). So, yes, Jonah did come home for the first time with Lipstick on his face... I'm just glad it was from a storybook hero!

A Father's Joy

The best $20 purchase of the last couple months was definately the underwater digital camera. You don't expect much for only twenty bucks but we've had some awesome late summer fun with this! James and Jonah were having a silly time of holding each other and this was one moment that I caught. James is so much in love with his boys... I absolutely love to watch all 3 of them interact. The best was earlier this week when Jude played "fireman" with Jonah and Daddy for over TWO HOURS! I'm so thankful for the amazing husband/daddy that I married.

James Matthew Barrie. What a brilliant man. The entire creation and development of the story "Peter Pan" is brilliant. And amazing. And captivating.... so much so that the story has been redone tons of times over the last 50 or so years. My boys are SO into pirates and Peter Pan and make believe right now that I am cherishing every story that they fall in love with. And this picture was taken while my Jonah sat next to me wide eyed and open mouthed. There, right in front of his eyes was his hero, Peter Pan! Amazing. Thank you, Mr. Barrie for your contribution to my children's imagination.

Yup. That's right.... I think that no matter how much they charge to get in, or how much a bottle of water is, or how much you think you are being ripped off.... Disneyland is so stinkin Magical. I really loved Disneyland on September 1st, Jonah's 3rd birthday. There is too much to write about the day, just to ponder though the whole concept of make-believe and wishes that do come true is something warm and fuzzy that I'll take with me when I go to dream tonite.

Mammoth Lakes this past August was so fun. We adventured to a tiny creek one morning. Jonah is in full form ready to toss whatever he's grasped as his older sibling, Jude gets introspective with the roots and rocks.

What an amazing creation! I've just discovered Picasa... the Google Pic software. Amazing. This is a collage of 2 pics.... the background is Natey jumping off a rock with giant mountains behind (and under) him and Jude is inncently holding a dirty snowball. How fun.... So, it's way too late at night to admit that I'm alone and in front of the computer. It's not like I have time to spare.... my minutes of sleep for tonight are getting smaller and smaller. Did some arbonne and some catching up tonite. Feels good to get things done. Why can't I remember that feeling when I am tired or lazy?
Hmmm.
Saw baby Miracle Jordyn Linette Reskey tonite. Got to hold the little peanut. That little princess is 7 pounds already! It was great to rub noses with one of God's angels.... :)
